In order to not allow "new players" to vote a new thread must be created, with special permissions only for old members of Quake 2 Cafe.

I'ma cheat lik'a mutha' an rock dat vote yo! Fo'shizzle! Not really, but I am working on a second and third map. We've got loads of life-stress right now, so add little sleep, too much work and that aforementioned stress and it = maps-maps-MAPS!!! ...and dang it feels good doing it. My 360 and PS3 can collect dust until this construction phase runs its course as far as I'm concerned. A Q2 mapping obsession once a year isn't a bad thing is it?

Boo! 'Tis quiet here. This was supposed to be a city map, I guess it's city-ish with a twist of castle thrown in. The tower in the center-top and the sky are likely placeholders...

Too quiet yep in my DarK CitY. ( Street ). Nice View again M Geezz. this looks totally real Dark City, a little dark screenshot but man..this contest is really going somewhere..cool.. Nice work guys!!! -W1

I've become too adapted to the redneckville we currently abode in (don't get me wrong now, we love it) to make even a facsimile of city...too many bad memories, Baltimore city 100% pure butt-crack.

Anyway some... sign of modernity should be fine to give the idea of a City according to the theme description, maybe a coca cola machine very old... a crashed police car... Idk the idea is very wide but recalling the theme: Dark City:Must be a city with a dark or apocalyptic atmosphere: Movies examples: Resident Evil, Dawn of Dead, Day after Tomorrow, I'm Legend. 2012. Silent Hill Etc. Example: bwcity2.bsp About the screen capture, I'd rather not give my opinion because I am a judge.. sorry my bad english...

I'm killing this one. It's not coming together, so it'll go on the scrap-heap for now and maybe get picked for pieces at some future date...

Screenie didn't look bad at all and it seems to fit the Dark City theme perfectly. Hope it won't be lost forever (all the maps I "pause" do get lost forever).

scraping the map, like maric just did is not a bad decision. it's very early in the competition, so if you don't have the right feeling for the map and have no real idea of how to magically put it back on track, then it's better to start fresh.
anyway, here comes the feedback: feels a bit monotone. i know it's early on, but all textures and lighting doesn't differ too much. the player is not really guided or curious about certain spots or routes. i also have a hard time imagining this being a city. good brush and texture work.
