I am confuse about this situation. So. I dont know what to do. Maybe Wixen1 can help me? he has more experience in competitions. In one hand margaal is correct if is angry because he hurried to finish in order to respect the deadline, also maric. In the other hand we know that many contests on Q2C have been delayed waiting for mappers or judges. So... Im thinking that the 3 mappers that already finished the work must vote about this. For now:
Yes: 1 vote spirit
No: 1 vote margaal

For now: Yes: 1 vote spirit No: 1 vote margaal Well, here is my 2 cents for what it is worth. At the Café, we only have a go at the contest when at least 5 mapper has signed up. If any mappers can't make the deadline, we usually push back the date. This means that mappers who already has finished their map/s can work on them again until the new deadline. In this case where we only have 5 mappers in total, and only 3 has finished, I personally think we should extent the deadline, if the two remaining mappers think they will be able to finish then. But it is also importent to listen to the mappers, who did make it, about their opinion in this matter. Hope this will help.  -W1 |

For now: Yes: 1 vote spirit No: 1 vote margaal Well my first reaction is, "Dang! I wanted to release my maps sooner rather than later." So then my second reaction is that, as I think about it a little more, I come away feeling pretty indifferent. The last thing I'm worried about is "placing" in a Q2 map contest, I'm more concerned about the fun and camaraderie that still exists in what's left of the Q2 community...and more creations. So what's a little delay matter eh? That said though, I may and may not let my maps loose in the wild before the new end date. BUT, that's not because I'm upset, not even a little bit, I simply wanna see what people think of the end results of all the cutt'n, copy'n and past'n I did. So, I don't know how to cast a vote just yet. Would it matter if the actual map releases spanned a period of time yet to be determined? I guess that in the end, I'll go with consensus. Either way, I ain't gonna fight, argue or throw piss-fits about the situation AND I ain't making not-no changes to what I already done sent out. How's that for ambivalence? edited to say; [glow=red,2,300] "HAPPY NEW YEARS!"[/glow] Especially to those who are already across that time terminator. I'm 100% sure the o'lady and I will be fast asleep when midnight strikes here. |

Well I think I have the Solution. To be fair to everyone. We will release the finished maps. The players will test and play the already finished maps, and they will have less time to evaluate the delayed maps. Same thing will happen with the judges. So. That's the best thing for me. We extend the time limit, but we launch the finished maps. So deadline will be February 1 |

Well I think I have the Solution. To be fair to everyone. We will release the finished maps. The players will test and play the already finished maps, and they will have less time to evaluate the delayed maps. Same thing will happen with the judges. So. That's the best thing for me. We extend the time limit, but we launch the finished maps. So deadline will be February 1 I think it is a very bad idea, as the remaining mappers will see the allready finished maps and therefor are able to change their own maps favourable, in the last minute. So if this decision is final, I will only judge the maps wich is just released or sign out as a judge. -W1 |

I didn't want to upset anyone, not my intention. I am glad to participate in the contest and I have two maps coming in the near future. Ofcourse the deadline shouldn't be extended without a proper reason or if there are participants (mappers/judges) that don't want to have the deadline extended. I am fine with not being in the contest, I am still super-happy to have two new maps coming and see the progression and final result from all you guys. Great work from what I have seen so far! ...and I am sure there will be more contests in the future, where I will have less of a hectic real life. Happy New Year everyone. |

We're all adults in this for the fun of making maps for the Q2 community together, not to steal from each other to place 1st or 2nd in some contest. Ok, a solution could be, that if the 3 mappers which has already finished their maps agree on the new deadline and having no problems if new maps will come in before the new deadline, I see no problem in judging all maps at the end.  -W1 |

Well the 3 map makers are agree. But... Panzer is already making his maps? Maybe somebody can ask him? It seems that the new maps will never be sent. Maybe they are too busy and forgot the contest. WizardExt said that dont know if he will finish the maps with the new dead line right?
Maybe they had to much work or something.

I don't know where to find Panzer but I can watch out for jester in a few places we both visit from time to time and ask him about his map.
