Some good tutorials I used when I learned Quake 2 mapping: If you feel you need an overview first, you may be interested in an article I wrote. It doesn't tell you how to build stuff, it tells you about the tools and the work flow. It's available at my level design website. (To those absolutely new to mapping: read the overview first, than decide on an editor and google for tutorials that tell you how to configure it for Quake 2 and for a 'making your first room'-tutorial. I knew about mapping before I came to Quake 2 so this is not in the list.)

Ooops, sorry. If I said 3 MB that was a typo. The one I linked is actually 83 MB. At least that'S how big it was when I uploaded it. Since youtube re-encodes the video chances are high that it's smaller when you stream or download it from there.
