I didn't see one here, so I thought I would start one.
Just a bit about myself. I actually started gaming online on the Dreamcast with Q3A. Fantastic fun on that console and shortly after picking up Q3A for the Dreamcast, I went out and bought the large "Quad Damage" pack for Q2 which included the game, both expansion packs and Net Extremeties. I only paid $20 for it and I still play to this day which makes it the best $20 I have ever spent!!!
After getting my fill of playing both Q3A and Q2, I started tinkering with mapping for Q3A. I learned a lot from a mapper called "Bubba" and had fun with Q3A, but I always loved the story line of Q2 and it drew me back when Q3A had lost it's luster.
I soon figured out that QERadiant worked for both games and since I preferred Q2 over Q3A, that is what I stuck with. I eventually found Sven (a mapper for Quake 2) and the Backshooters website, but if memory serves me, it probably went down like this: While visiting "PlanetQuake" one day, I caught a glimpse of the "Not Dead Yet" mapping competition. I still remember the limit of 600 brushes placed on the mappers and the contest turned out a fantastic winner in "Cold Zero" by Ven.

Somehow, I made it to Sven's site and found an article on his site about "Obsolete Creativity". In this article he showed how painting was not eliminated by the invention of the camera, but rather, it took on new meaning through expressionism. This is what I have firmly believed in during the years and it has influenced a number of the maps I released over the years (Solar Winds, I/O).
I continued mapping, but only putting out a handful of maps up until I couldn't take the buggy environment of Windows based operating systems anymore and more or less "retired" from mapping in 2007. Since that time, I have built 2 Mustang GTs, sold one, race the other, changed jobs, left the military, played way too many Xbox360, PS3 and Wii games and it looks as if I have come full circle back to the one thing that occupied so many days and years of my life...crack and legos...err...I mean Quake 2 mapping.
So, after a 3 year hiatus, and after an invite from SpawnGirl, it looks like I am returning to the scene. I hope to see my personal favorites here as well...Jester and Maric, without whom none of my maps would have been possible and I thank them for that.
Ok, enough of the sappy stuff. The flip side of this coin is I'm older, probably a grouchy bastard most of the time, brutally honest and willing to help wherever I can. I'll try to make sure you know when I'm kidding (I generally throw in a stupid emoticon or something so if you don't get the hint, then God help you! )
Hope to see some more maps in the future...including some of my own twisted design. Thanks for having me!
